Four miles east of Charlotte Amalie on the roller-coaster road to Red Hook, this island favorite attracts an affable mix of locals, expats, and tourists. The food, particularly the all-you-can-eat barbecue, is justification enough at this flip-flop–optional spot with picnic tables scattered in the sand and palm trees festooned with Christmas-tree lights. But the real draw is the nightly live entertainment, especially on Wednesday "Carnival nights," when there's a calypso band, dancing on the beach, and the fire-breathing, down-low limbo mastery of King Heron.
Open Mondays through Thursdays 3 pm to midnight, Saturdays and Sundays noon to midnight.
