A short stroll from the Cruz Bay ferry dock, Mongoose Junction is a winding, multilevel shopping center with more than a dozen restaurants and boutiques selling jewelry, art, and apparel with an island flavor. R&I Patton Goldsmithing creates baubles with Caribbean influences, such pieces incorporating the St. John petroglyph—an island symbol believed to have been carved by the Native Americans who greeted Christopher Columbus. Other standouts include Bamboula for vibrant ethnic paintings and jewelry, and the three-story Big Planet beachwear and surf shop.
