Despite all of the rave reviews on many of the travel websites, we found the Lodge at Vail extremely tired and undeserving of the multiple stars that it tends to receive. Our room was extremely small, had old fixtures, and broken window latches/screens. If it were not for a function that we had to attend at the hotel, we would have checked-out.
Should you travel in the summertime and have to stay at the property, make sure not to stay in any rooms on the first floor by the pool. The rooms are without air condition and struggle to cool off. Finally, the food and beverages are over priced. An a la carte bagel at breakfast was $8.00. About the only pluses to the property are the gym and its location in the center of town.
