Friendliest staff and best breakfast

The experience of entering the hotel via a canal door was unusual and fun. The hotel is in a very old building but was very comfortable. From the land entrance, it was only a minute's walk to Piazza San Marco but it was tucked away so it felt like you were staying at a friend's house. I can only compare it to the Hotel Daniele where we stayed before and I would choose Locanda Orseolo every time. Our group of 6 had 2 rooms on the canal side and one on the courtyard. On the canal side we heard some noise from the traffic but it wasn't a huge bustling street so wansn't bad at all. Rooms were spacious, very well appointed and comfortable. What made this place special was the staff. All the owners work there and everybody on the staff are very nice, helpful, and friendly. Their breakfast was fabulous. Not only was their buffet good, they also offered eggs and crepes cooked to order. We won't stay anywhere else in Venice!
