Hix Island House is simply paradise - luxurious and eco-friendly. It is one of my favorite places in the world and I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on Vieques. If you love the idea of living in an open loft space, with a great kitchen and outdoor shower, gliding around on smooth concrete floors, surrounded by nature and the call of coqui frogs at night, Hix Island House is for you. It's eco-friendly and the new lofts are completely off the grid. Each loft is spectacular and has a character of it's own. Breakfast foods are provided daily, including freshly baked bread, a fruit basket, cereals, eggs and Puerto Rican coffee beans for you to grind. Passionfruit, papaya and limes are grown on the property. There are daily yoga classes and massages are available. Vieques is wonderful to explore - it's a short drive to empty stunning white sand beaches with turquoise water. The nature reserve has so many beaches that you can choose a different one every day. And do not miss the incredible bioluminescent bay!
