If you want a slice of the "Real Washington" then Tryst coffeehouse in the eclectic Adams-Morgan neighborhood is definitely a place to drop-in on, but don't be in a rush! Tryst is a relaxing coffeehouse where the servers assume that you are there to stay a while. Relax, read, and drink their special blend of coffee or perhaps something off their tea menu. Tryst's spectacular sandwiches, salads, desserts and other treats are well worth waiting for. The place is jammed even on weekdays with grad students doing projects on their laptops, freelancers at work, or just people looking to get out of their apartments for a bit. It's common practice here for strangers to share couches and tables. There are also boardgames and toys for kids. There is wireless during the week. At night Tryst is a lively bar with music that still sells a lot of coffee drinks as well as beer and martinis. Check-out some of their monthly special drinks and desserts. The staff is always friendly and helpful to visitors. report a problem
