Concierge.com's insider take:
At the edge of lovely little Nita Lake, this boutique lodge is a haven for skiers who dig quiet evenings, alpine views, and easy mountain access. It's located in Whistler Creekside—three miles south of the late-night hooting and hollering for which Whistler Village is sometimes known, and a five-minute walk from the Creekside gondola. The look here is a polished take on rustic (fir beams, woven rugs, leather furnishings), while the amenities are thoroughly modern: All 77 guest rooms are equipped with basalt rock fireplaces, heated stone floors, 40-inch flat-screen TVs, and spacious bathrooms with soaking tubs and rain showers. (Large groups should book one of the two guesthouses, which include four or five bedrooms, gourmet kitchens, and hot tubs.) At sunset, guests gather on Lakeside Lounge's patio (it's heated in winter) to enjoy a glass of wine and swap tales of trails conquered.
