We stayed at the Occidental Grand Xcaret in September 2008 and loved it!! The beach there is a manmade cove and is just wonderful! The snorkeling in that cove was better than our snorkel trip to Cozumel. The resort is filled with great wildlife, great staff, and the food was pretty good too! Going to the Xcaret eco park attached to the resort is a must! You can learn so much about the Mayan culture, history, and the wildlife of Mexico all steps away from your resort. We tried to go back again this year, but there was nothing available for the week we wanted to go..total bummer! Going to downtown Playa del Carmen is highly recommended. It is only a $10 cab ride and there are some great shops and nightclubs there in town! report a problem
